What’s Love Got To Do With It?
By Pastor Angela

What’s love got to do with it? Tina Turner asked the question, but God has the answer. Throughout the Bible love is mentioned over and over again. The key point about love is, “if you have none, than what you do is for naught.” You can build bridges, you can build houses, you can rebuild lives, but if you do it with love in your heart, what are you doing it for? Putting God first in everything you do, put love first. Love makes you forget about how you feel and remember how to be like Jesus. Don’t let your emotions block you from being a blessing today, “Put a little (lot) of love in your heart and the world will be a better place.”

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.” 1 Cor 13:1-3

Will you take the challenge? We want to issue a challenge to everyone at NCCA and abroad. Let's read through the New Testament together in 2010.

The Daily Devotionals have a New Testament, Old Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs reading on each day; I would like us to study the New Testament this year to really FOCUS on New Covenant themes, on SEEING Jesus as He really is, and by "seeing" Him through the readings, be transformed from Glory to Glory (Col. 1:15, 2 Cor. 3:18, 2 Tim 3:16).

If you have extra time, and want to commit to the entire readings of OT, NT, Psalms and Proverbs, we encourage you to do so; however, let's take the challenge and focus on studying the New Covenant (Testament).

If you'd like to get a print out, bookmark reading schedule, please contact Pastor Randy; otherwise, I encourage you to utilize the daily devotional and simply read the New Testament schedule.

On-line discussion forum for study, coming soon...

2010 has been declared as the “Moving Forward” Year.  Several passages of Scripture come to mind almost immediately as we reflect on the prophetic implications of “Moving Forward.”
We see Lot’s Wife, who was called to move forward, and when she didn’t she forever froze in one spot.
We see the Children of Israel, when they were called out of Egypt, they were called to move forward with a pillar of fire by day and cloud by night leading them through to a new and better home free from slavery and the tyranny of the enemy.
We see the church moving forward throughout the entire book of Acts – ever gaining ground, overcoming obstacles, defeating the enemy, declaring the authority of the Kingdom of God and the power of the Name of Jesus – not going backward but ever moving forward.
In 2010, as we rapidly approach the new year, we will discover that now is the time for us to take hold of the promises of God.

·         If you have sin in your life, repent, and MOVE FORWARD

·         If you have broken relationships, do what you can to bring restoration, and MOVE FORWARD
·         If you desire to move into the calling of God on your life, get in church and MOVE FORWARD
·         If you want to see God use you more and more, MOVE FORWARD

This is the year of moving forward, now is the time.

 In Love and Service,
Pastor Randy Morgan

The Blind Man
by Pastor Paul Walker

I was walking down Pike Street in Seattle when I came across a construction site for a new building. The broad concrete sidewalk had been torn up and a new, narrow, temporary sidewalk had been constructed under the scaffolding for pedestrians. As I came out the other side of the construction I saw a blind man approaching with his walking cane, searching the way in front of him. He was headed straight for the barricade at the section of missing sidewalk, not knowing that he was in a construction zone. For a moment I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to insult his sense of independence but felt that he may need just a little help navigating his way through. Just as I turned to go back and help, a good Samaritan discreetly approached him and quietly said, “Hey buddy, there’s a construction site here. The temporary sidewalk is this way,” and guided him by the arm to the narrow passage. The blind man thanked him and went on. In a moment, the good Samaritan was gone as well. Then the Holy Spirit said to me, “See Paul, this is how it’s done; discreetly and gently so as not to create a scene or make the person feel uncomfortable. Be gentle and kind like Jesus.” I walked away reminded of an important truth; everyone needs help at some point.  How well it is received depends upon how I offer it; with an attitude of superiority or humbly. If I offer it gently and humbly I do well and bring glory to God.
