New Covenant’s School for ministry training is well underway.

In the coming weeks and months be prepared to see some of these coming forward.  One of the assignments for the FI is that each student has to seek God for a burden and with the pastoral staff’s supervision and covering, develop that burden into a “new ministry” in the church.  There is great excitement as each student has strong, personal one-on-one mentoring as their gifts and callings are brought forth more and more.

I believe that God is calling us to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world, and we’re going to need “Fully Equipped” saints to accomplish this task.  The Fire Institute is a means of training next level warriors for ministry.

New Classes will begin in July.  Pray and find out if God is calling you to ministry…  If so, The FI will be for you…

Deacons’ Corner – Helping Feed the Flock

Ready or Not…

From Deacon Angela Brown

As I was getting ready for work this morning, I wondered if I were returning too early, was I really ready to get back on the horse. I will not know the answer to that until I make it through more of the day, but there is something that I do know the answer to. I know that my God supplies all my needs and that when I feel tired and like I can’t go on, he will carry me. I am blessed to be here this morning and to be returning to share God’s word with all of you. Thank you for all of your prayers and calls and know that you too are a blessing to each person that you encounter today. Spread the love that God has given you with those you see and speak to today.

Matt 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls

Deacon Angela had surgery on her ankle a number of weeks ago.  Continue to pray for her

Confession of Faith

From Deacon Joan Castle

(Say the following out loud during your devotional time, and mediate on these scriptural promises)

Heavenly Father:

I seek Your face, to gaze upon the beauty of You in the temple.  Father let it rain!  Let it rain in my heart that I would change and seek You for everything.  Melt me, Mold me, Fill me, Use me Lord to do the work of the ministry.  To be a leader and set an example as You did when You walked the earth.  May people see more of You and less of me, Jesus.  Let it rain in my heart that lives would be changed from glory to glory.  Let it rain in my heart that chains will be broken and bands loosened.  Let those who walk by or get close to me, let them see You Jesus.

I repent of all my sins and ask for You to cleanse me and make me white as snow.  Send me forth as a laborer in the field that I might bring forth the Word to the praise of God.  Change lives Lord as we point them to You.  Show us Your glory and power as we sing praises to Your name forevermore.  For You are Holy, Righteous, Ever living Father, Ever loving God.  I love You and praise You.  For You are great and Your mercies endure forever.  Thank You for Your tender mercies and showing us Your heart and Who You Are!  Now I know who I am as I look at the example You left us in Your Word.  Thank You Holy Spirit for being here with us now.  Amen

The Holy Spirit – Your Trusted Guide

Are you facing issues?  Do you need direction?  Are you uncertain about what God wants you to do?  If so, please know that if you are a Christian, you have someone available to you who can lead you through every step of life – THE HOLY SPIRIT.  When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, the Holy Spirit moved into your life; He became an ever accessible friend and guide who knows all there is to know about this world, the spiritual world, and you.  He is with you to see you through this life.

Today, right now, if you need His help, His direction, here are some pointers:

  • Pray – Ask Him to speak to your heart.  Say it with me, “Holy Spirit, the Word of God says that you will guide me, so I’m asking for you to guide me, In Jesus’ Name.”  Now, receive by faith.
  • Listen – This is a very difficult action to learn for the average human.  We love to talk but listening is something we have to work at developing.  To listen simply means “to pay attention to, to hear something with thoughtful attention.”  By faith, listen.  When you “hear Him speak” thank Him for giving you direction, even if He’s saying what you DON’T WANT to hear.

There are three ways in which the Holy Spirit primarily speaks to us:

    1. The Bible – through times of study and prayer
    2. Voice – we “hear words” in our hearts and those words are filtered through our minds.  In other words, the Holy Spirit’s voice will often sound like our own thoughts running through our minds, so pray to know when it’s Him speaking.
    3. Inward Witness –this is a “hunch,” a feeling of knowing.  When the Holy Spirit is speaking through the inward witness, you may say, “I just feel like God wants me to…”  The inward witness is a simple “knowing in the heart.
  • Obey – when the Holy Spirit speaks to you, Obey Him.  When we’re faithful to do what He tells us to do, then He will speak more and we will become more and more skilled in hearing His Voice.
  • Submit what you hear – have people in your life to whom you are accountable.  Surround yourself with seasoned Christians who have success at hearing the voice of God.  When you get direction from the Holy Spirit, run it by them.  Ask them, “hey, I feel that God is saying… what do you think?”  Then listen to what they have to say.  Accountability with the voice of God will keep you out of trouble and help season you to hear more and more.

Growing For Sowing

Exceed to Seed

If God is giving you dreams and visions for something to accomplish here at New Covenant, then please, by all means share it with Pastor Randy.

Write it down and e-mail it:  Habakkuk 2:2 says, “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it.”  Write down what God is showing you and share it.

2007 is a year of “Growing for Sowing.”  A time for us to continue to grow.  As we are set to enter into the hundreds here at this local church, let’s keep in mind that God has also called us to other cities, other nations, etc.

God is setting in motion events that will send various leaders here at New Covenant to the north, south, east, and west.  We’re not just going to call them in, we will go out.  So, 2007 will be the year that we grow in order to sow.  That we exceed where we are in order to seed in other places.

Keeping in mind that God has called this church, New Covenant Church of Atlanta, to be a local church.  We are here, and God has called us here to this city.  However, God has also called us to go out as well.  So, be praying about your place and what God has for you.  These are exciting times.  Let’s grow together!!!

Do You Want More Power?  Do you want to experience the supernatural power of God and miracles more consistently in your life?  Then you definitely want to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is the member of the Godhead that is present in the earth to administrate God’s Presence and supernatural abilities among His children.
