From Pastor Angela Brown Most
denominations teach or believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost
(Spirit), the trinity. God, over two thousand years ago sent his only son to die
on a cross for our sins. After Jesus rose, he spent about 40 days with the
apostles and other believers and when he departed to again be with God, he
sent the Holy Spirit to dwell among us to be a counselor and guide (John
14:26). When
I was young I believed that the Holy Spirit came when you were stirred by
music or a sermon and left not long after either had moved you. I have heard
it said the Holy Spirit is a gentleman and does not force anyone, but will
come upon invitation. It is a blessing to know that the Holy Spirit is
with me always and not just for a little while. Whenever you hear a still
small voice, you are not going crazy, for most of us that is the Holy Spirit
speaking to you. Are you listening? Are you yielding to the word of God or moving
in your own will? Let God move in your life. Listen and obey and let the Holy
Spirit, and not your emotions, move you to where God wants you to be. Rom
5:2b-5 And
we[b] rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
3Not only so, but we[c] also rejoice in our sufferings, because
we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and
character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out
his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. |
From Pastor Joan Castle (Say the following out loud during your devotional
time, and meditate on these scriptural promises) I
will not be afraid of bad news because my heart is fixed, trusting in the
LORD. With joy, I shall draw water out of the wells of salvation.
I know my God and am therefore strong and will do exploits. I am a
branch that abides in the vine of Jesus that brings forth much fruit.
God will withhold no good thing from me as I live righteously. As
I submit my life to God and resist the devil, the devil must flee from
me. When I am afraid, I will put my trust in God. I am a sweet
aroma of Christ unto God. I house the presence of God inside me.
I find peace of mind as I keep my mind upon God. God has given me the
ministry of reconciliation. I am an adopted child of God. I have
unsearchable riches in Christ. I have a home in heaven that Jesus has
prepared for me |

2007 Growing For Sowing Exceed to Seed
If God is giving you
dreams and visions for something to accomplish here at New Covenant, then please,
by all means share it with Pastor Randy. Write it down and
e-mail it: Habakkuk 2:2 says, “And the LORD answered me, and said,
Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads
it.” Write down what God is showing
you and share it. |
2007 is a year of “Growing for Sowing.” A time for us to continue to grow. As we are set to enter into the hundreds here at this local church, let’s keep in mind that God has also called us to other cities, other nations, etc. God is setting in motion events that will send various leaders here at New Covenant to the north, south, east, and west. We’re not just going to call them in, we will go out. So, 2007 will be the year that we grow in order to sow. That we exceed where we are in order to seed in other places. Keeping in mind that God has called this church, |
