Transitions:

The In-town Home Group will be moving from Pastor Paul and Todd’s Home to Dr. Jack Brink’s Home on June 5, 2007.  Pastor Randy and Dr. Jack will be sharing in the responsibility of facilitating group discussions.

To kick this move off, we are going to have a reunited on that night (reunited events are when all the home groups come together corporately).  This reunited will have 4 focuses:

  1. To honor and thank Pastor Paul and Todd for hosting an awesome home group for 2 years.  They were the first home group to begin, and we celebrated with an awesome “Cake of Obedience.”  We will celebrate the transition with another awesome “Cake of Obedience.”
  2. Pastor Randy Morgan will have just returned the day before from his Mexico Mission’s trip.  And he will share briefly with everyone how that trip went.
  3. PR will also recast the vision for home groups.  Here is a thought – if you are an active member of New Covenant and you would like to host a “home group” in your home, please know that PR is looking for volunteers now for 6 month commitments to host.
  4. Finally, fellowship.  We will enjoy an awesome time of fellowship.

Home Groups

Home Groups are an opportunity for you to become connected, discover God’s callings and giftings on your life, make friends, be mentored by some of the greatest servants of God in the whole-wide world, solidify your relationship with God, etc.  You are encouraged to take part each week in this awesome, awesome ministry that God is using profoundly at New Covenant Church of Atlanta.  No matter where you live, there is one close by.

The Joshua Ministry

(New Covenant’s Intercessory Prayer Ministry)

From Ron Rock

I will head up a group of people to meet in the park this Sunday as it is the first Sunday in May. We will gather some "park" and bring it to Sunday morning intercession. We can meet at the bridge that comes in from Park Ave near the dog area, gather some ground, pray and be at the church by ten or earlier. We can meet every Sunday and do the same and the "more dirt" will be prophetic to the "more people saved" on and as a result of the Pride Outreach. A scripture tie-in is the idea of "like grains of sand that cannot be counted..." In June we will add the prophetic act of walking the park praying, releasing more of the Holy Spirits power, probably needing to meet at 8:30 those mornings.

Mondays - at Ron Rock’s Home in Tucker.  For more information, see him.

A number of years ago, when we first began our “Pride Evangelism Outreaches” here at New Covenant, we “prayer walked” the park prior to our outreach.  The first time we did it, we collected a few little zip-lock bags of dirt, rocks, small parts of the park to bring to intercessory prayer meetings as a “Point of Contact” in order to make prophetic declarations over the park together.    6 years later, we are taking up the burden again as it once was, God has restored the burden for the lost and we are taking up the call to pray, and Ron will be helping herald the call for prayer.

God Bless,

Pastor Randy Morgan

Text Box: How Does New Covenant Meet Needs of People?

Hardly a week goes by that the office doesn’t receive calls from people “in need.”  Relationship issues, orientation-reconciliation issues, depression, bitterness, financial help, spiritual guidance, physical ailments, family problems, direction about the ministry, Bible Studies, church-issues, etc.  The needs are so many, and so overwhelming in so many lives.  Often it is heartbreaking to hear as the stories are told.

Good News - There is a very powerful anointing on New Covenant to help address these issues and remove many of these burdens (Isaiah 10:27 KJV).  God has been very good to us as a church, and the blessings that God pours out helps us help others.

However, it is imperative for me to occasionally readdress the issue of WHY WE ARE ACTUALLY HERE, and how we are called to help others.

We are here to lead the lost to Jesus Christ, sinners to repentance, teach the Word of God, worship God, and equip believers to become active in the work of the ministry.  For more of a detailed description of our ministry, click here.  We are a full-Gospel, Spirit-filled, Spirit-led, Word Church that is also gay-affirming.

How does One Go About Getting Help from New Covenant Church of Atlanta?

The first thing one must do to receive help from us is receive the help that is offered every week – Worship and the Word of God.  If you are a part of New Covenant in theory but never attend services and never go to home groups, then you need not ask for help unless you’re ready to shift your mindsets and receive the Word of God…  Worship and the Word are the two things that help transform lives more than anything else.  The Word taught stirs faith (Romans 10:17), then the faith pulls the answers to needs out of the spiritual realm and into lives.

If you can not be faithful, then we can not help you.  We are called to serve, not enable bad behaviors.  Believe it or not, the people who call the most, with the most issues, more often than not, are those who are not under the Word or under authority on a regular basis, those who “come to church when they feel like it,” those who, “don’t have to go to church or home groups regularly…”  Usually those who do not stir themselves to get to the House of the Lord to receive the Word are those who end up in desperate situations because the Word works for those who hear it, receive it, and implement it into their lives.

The Word of God is forever settled (Psalm 119:89).  If you have unsettled situations, financially, spiritually, emotionally, relationally, etc, then get the Word of God on those situations and watch the Word of God settle them.

That being said:

We have a benevolence fund that is often a source of help for all active, faithful members of New Covenant.  If you are a member and have shown yourself faithful to the Word, then we are here to add an extra “Umpphhhh” to that through other means.

Pastoral counsel is available to those who show themselves willing to submit to the Word of God when it is given and taught.  However, no submission to the Word, no counsel for you.

If you don’t live in Atlanta, New Covenant is here as a resource for you as well.  We are here to help you get on your way in studying the Word of God, and even potentially starting a church in your area if there is not a full-Gospel, Gay-affirming church in your area.

We are here for you.  If you need us, we will help.  However, we won’t help you be unfaithful to God, nor will we dishonor His blessings by being frivolous with those blessings.  We will serve you and bless you, but maybe in a package that you’re not expecting.

There are many ways that we serve.  There are many things that we do to reach out and be a blessing.  However, the building block of everything we say and/or do to meet the needs of others will always be established in and from the Word of God.  No priority is higher in anyone’s life.

God Bless,

Pastor Randy Morgan

Do You Want More Power?  Do you want to experience the supernatural power of God and miracles more consistently in your life?  Then you definitely want to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is the member of the Godhead that is present in the earth to administrate God’s Presence and supernatural abilities among His children.

Word for Today

From Pastor Angela Brown

This morning the song Let It Rise has been on my heart. The words of the

song are:

Let the glory of the Lord, rise among us,

Let the glory of the Lord, rise among us.

Let the praises of the King rise among us,

Let it rise.

Let the songs of the Lord, rise among us,

Let the songs of the Lord, rise among us.

Let the joy of the King, rise among us,

Let it rise.

Oh - oh - oh, let it rise.

Oh - oh - oh, let it rise.

These words tell us that the glory of God is within each of us. To have this glory consume us, all we have to do is allow it to take place. So often we allow the influences of the world to get us, either up or down.

Today, Let The Glory of The Lord take control of your life and your soul.

1 John 5:4-6

4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that

has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the

world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

6This is the one who came by water and blood-Jesus Christ. He did not

come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who

testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

Growing For Sowing

Exceed to Seed

If God is giving you dreams and visions for something to accomplish here at New Covenant, then please, by all means share it with Pastor Randy.

Write it down and e-mail it:  Habakkuk 2:2 says, “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it.”  Write down what God is showing you and share it.

2007 is a year of “Growing for Sowing.”  A time for us to continue to grow.  As we are set to enter into the hundreds here at this local church, let’s keep in mind that God has also called us to other cities, other nations, etc.

God is setting in motion events that will send various leaders here at New Covenant to the north, south, east, and west.  We’re not just going to call them in, we will go out.  So, 2007 will be the year that we grow in order to sow.  That we exceed where we are in order to seed in other places.

Keeping in mind that God has called this church, New Covenant Church of Atlanta, to be a local church.  We are here, and God has called us here to this city.  However, God has also called us to go out as well.  So, be praying about your place and what God has for you.  These are exciting times.  Let’s grow together!!!
