Pastoral Week-Alone-With-God

August 27-31, Pastor Randy Morgan will be on a pastoral retreat in the New Covenant sanctuary.

During this time, there is a general call to fasting and prayer.

  • All members are asked to fast and pray
  • The pastoral staff and leadership are asked to come and pray in the sanctuary during the week.
  • Pastor Joan and Pastor Angela will be the primary, go-to pastors for ministry coordination, and general pastoral direction during this week.
  • Please, remember, if you come to the church, be aware that prayer is taking place, continuously in the sanctuary from 9 AM to 5 PM and most likely into the evenings as well.  Please, and this is a VERY RARE REQUEST – no socializing in the sanctuary during that time.
  • Directives for prayer
    • For New Covenant and the New Covenant Network of Ministries
    • For Apostle and Pastor Randy and Johnny, the pastoral staff, deacons, ministries (for direction, wisdom, protection, etc)
    • For breakthrough to the 150 (see below for more information)
    • For the miraculous to flow more freely
    • For the harvest to continue growing and for more laborers in the field.

Yesterday, there were 119 people in attendance at New Covenant.

First, active members, you can park around back of the church to make room for newer people.  I understand that there were a lot of cars here on Sunday.  Please know that parking is also available around back.

Again, as we apply our faith to grow (see below – What is the 150?), we are going to begin to need everyone reaching out and helping “integrate” every person into the life of this church.  When you see someone and you’re uncertain if they’ve been here or not, don’t wait for a pastor or a deacon or an usher to grab them, you take the initiative and help them get plugged in to this awesome church.  Help them by finding out where they live and introducing them to the nearest home group leader.  Help them by introducing them to a pastor or leader.  Reach out and let them know that they are a treasure to God, and as we share the love of God, and as we pray, fast, and seek the Face of God, our growth will expand into the facility next to us and beyond into other cities and countries, and His Glory shall cover the earth as the waters cover the sea (Hab. 2:14).

From Pastor Angela

Faith

As I read this morning in Eph 2, I was again reminded about the importance, the power and the blessing of faith. Our faith works for us when our heart may fail. The gift of faith that God has so freely given should not be tucked away in some dark corner, but like a muscle needs of our body, it needs to receive exercise everyday. For just like a muscle, when we flex and stretch it, it grows stronger and so do we. Today step out in boldness on faith and let the world see the mighty works that God is doing through you,

Be blessed and be a blessing,

Eph 2:8-10

8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do

From Pastor Joan

Confession of Faith

I am the Body of Christ. My body is the house of God. God lives in me and I belong to Him. I've been bought with the price of the blood of Jesus, so I glorify God in my body and in my spirit.  Satan has no power over me. I have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of God's dear Son. Therefore sin has no power over me. I separate myself from every unclean thing.  I submit myself to God. I resist the devil and he flees from me. I give no place or no opportunity to the devil.

I consider Jesus and His presence in me. I love God more than anything this world offers. I present my body as a living sacrifice to God - holy, devoted, and consecrated to please Him, which is a part of my spiritual worship to Him. I am not conformed to this world's way of thinking, but I am continually being transformed by the renewing of my mind to His Word so that I can prove what is the good, the acceptable, and the perfect will of God in my life. I have the mind of Christ.

I live and walk by faith and not by sight or feelings. I live by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. The spirit of faith is, I believe and therefore I speak.

The “Pastor Randy’s Quarterly Week-Alone-With-God”

The Beginning Report

By:  Pastor Randy Morgan

Today, I began my quarterly week-alone-with-God.  For those of you who are new to New Covenant and may not know what this is, it is a time for me to be alone with God without any appointments or calls or distractions of any sort from the Voice of God.  It is a time for me to gain vision from His Presence for the future of our church and organization.  It is the time that every active member of New Covenant gets a “Prayer Cover” that can’t be described in one writing.  Please know that when I am alone with God, YOU ALL GET BROUGHT UP A LOT!!!  And you have effective prayers prayed over you.

As I arrived into the Presence of God during this time of prayer, fasting, and consecration, I heard God say clearly, “My Holy Spirit.”  The Lord immediately began unfolding dozens upon dozens of Scriptures in my spirit as He began to instruct me about His Holy Spirit and the need for us to grow in our understanding of who He is, what He does, how we can yield to Him more, and how we must learn to please Him instead of grieve Him.

I am looking forward to sharing more in the coming weeks.  Right now, on the first day, I have roughly 10-15 pages worth of Spiritually-downloaded materials from the Spirit of God into my heart and some actually on paper – WOW!!!  So, continue to pray, and join with me in fasting, praying, and consecrating ourselves all over again for the next phase of this awesome work that God has called us to accomplish.

What is The 150???

Scriptural basis for GROWING:

So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest (Matthew 9:38)

Great multitudes followed Jesus (Matthew 4:25).

Great multitudes gathered together unto Him (Jesus) (Matthew 13:2).

Great multitudes came unto him having with Him those who were lame, blind, dumb, and maimed and many others and cast them at Jesus’ feet and He healed them … and the multitudes were amazed (Matthew 15:30).

The multitudes resorted to Him (Jesus) and He taught them (Mark 2:13).

And the believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both men and women (Acts 5:14)

The Word increased and the number of disciples increased (Acts 6:7)

The Hand of the Lord was with them and a great number believed and turned to the Lord (Acts 11:21)

We are always setting goals here at New Covenant for higher, greater, more excellent, and more powerful service to God.  Without a vision people perish and cast off all restraint, so goals are vital for any group to thrive and grow, especially in the Kingdom.  God has given us a vision and a message that will reach the nations, help revolutionize lives, and lead souls into a relationship with our God and King.  With that in mind, in order to fulfill the vision that God has given New Covenant Church of Atlanta, we must grow even beyond the awesome growth we’ve seen through the years – we need many more people.  Not just to sit in pews, but laborers, ready to get to work for the demonstration of God’s plans and purposes.  So, a goal has been set - 150 people as our base attendance and beyond.

Will you set your faith in agreement?  Will you call friends, family, loved ones, those who haven’t been to church in a while?  Will you send cards, e-mails, etc.?  Will you call it forth in prayer?  If so, thank you.  God is going to do amazing things here in this Body of Believers.  We need the exponential power of unity and growth to continue here at New Covenant – to breakthrough the 100 or so mark in attendance, to increase in order to sow out into the world.  Let’s reach higher than we’ve ever reached before

A corporate confession based on the Scriptures above, say this out loud:

Where Jesus was, multitudes followed Him, gathered together with Him, were healed by Him, and taught by Him.  Father, your Word makes it plain that where Jesus is, people come – we call them in through prayer first.  You add to the church and I thank you now that the church is being added to in number.  The Word will increase, so I thank you that as the people grow in their understanding and hearing of the Word that you will increase.  Your Word increases and the people grow in their understanding of the Word; therefore, people will be added to the church. In the Name of Jesus.
