Weekly E-pistle

Thank you!!! And INVOKE!!!

By:  Apostle Randy Morgan

New Covenant, thank you so much for your prayers and support.  Pastor Johnny and I are so grateful for this church family.  As many of you know, we have recently, continued to face physical challenges.  However, we trust God and know Him to be our sufficiency in all of this (2 Cor. 12:7-10).  What an awesome team of leaders we have as a church!!!  When we are not there, the team of leaders still carries on with power and demonstration.  I’m so grateful for a church that is not built on who I am but is built on a sure foundation, the King of Glory.

I (AR) am also so thankful for all the calls, voice mails, e-mails, cards, and e-cards wishing me a happy birthday.  You all are such a blessing.

I have been hearing the word “Invoke” over and over in my spirit.  When I have gone to God in prayer, recently, every time I go to speak, I hear the word “invoke.”  So, Deacon Tonna and I began an investigation as to what this might mean.  We came up with this definition:  to petition for help or support; to appeal to or cite as authority 2: to call forth by repetitious and continual speaking and singing particular scriptures or cited authority.  3: to make an earnest request for; 4: to put into effect or operation.   I believe what God is saying to me in this time, this very strategic time, even the next 2-3 weeks, it is time for this army to begin to “Invoke” specific direction, to begin to appeal to God’s strength, to cite His Word, to call forth by repetitious, faithful meditation in that Word, to make earnest request for, and to put into effect and operation, the plans and purposes of God.

I believe that right now, today, it is time for you to find the promises of God concerning your situations and the situations of this ministry.  It’s time to “INVOKE” God’s promises.

If you are sick – by His Stripes you were healed (Isa.  53:5-6)

If you need financial provision – My God supplies all your needs (Phil. 4:19)

If you are depressed – In His presence is the fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11)

For this church – So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest (Matthew 9:38)

For this church – Great multitudes followed Jesus (Matthew 4:25).

For this church – Great multitudes gathered together unto Him (Jesus) (Matthew 13:2).

For this church – Great multitudes came unto him having with Him those who were lame, blind, dumb, and maimed and many others and cast them at Jesus’ feet and He healed them … and the multitudes were amazed (Matthew 15:30).

For this church – The multitudes resorted to Him (Jesus) and He taught them (Mark 2:13).

For this church – And the believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both men and women (Acts 5:14)

For this church – The Word increased and the number of disciples increased (Acts 6:7)

For this church – The Hand of the Lord was with them and a great number believed and turned to the Lord (Acts 11:21)

I encourage you today, begin to invoke the power and authority of God.  Appeal to His Strength and ability.

Occults and new age have tried to copy the word “invoke” and use it for their purposes, but the truth is when we truly invoke the authentic power and promises of God, then true and authentic results come to pass.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth (Invoke), but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success (Joshua 1:8)

I will also meditate (Invoke) on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds (Psalm 77:12)

Call upon (Invoke) Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me  (Psalm 50:15)

As for me, I will call upon (Invoke) God, And the Lord shall save me (Psalm 55:16)

There is an old rock song that talks about one being the loneliest number that there ever was. For us, as we walk this earth, we find ourselves often drawn to others because e enjoy or need the company of another. When we draw to others for friendship, comfort, support, etc. we often find ourselves feeling better than we did when it was just us. God calls us to come together, and where two or more are in agreement, he also will be there (Matt. 18-20), but we must do so in his name. when we get together and give God the praise, honor, and glory we will be drawn together more often for more celebration.

Get with someone today and give a praise report, be an encourager, an extension of the love of God.

Ecc. 3:9-10  9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:

 10 If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!

Weekly Confession

For with my heart I believe unto righteousness and with my mouth confession is made unto salvation.

My tongue has power of life and death.  I speak the word of God that is in line with His will for my life.

When I open my mouth to speak the word of God that is in line with His will, the heavens are sanctioned and God brings His word from the supernatural realm and manifests it in to the natural realm.

I confess Gods word today for Peace, Joy, perfect health and prosperity in every area of my life.

Jesus who is my salvation rescued me from sin and death.

I am healed, cured, preserved, kept safe and sound, I am kept from spiritual death by forgiving sin and its effects, and I have a new life and a new heart

tonnaI Can Be Like An Orchestra to You, Oh God!

By Deacon Tonna Eidson

One day when I was worshiping and praying in the Spirit, I noticed myself sounding like various instruments in my prayer language. That started me thinking about musical instruments and how they represented things in Bible times.

Ancient artifacts and writings reveal that the people of Palestine routinely wove music into almost every aspect of society (sacrifices, battle victories, as well as prophetic activity are just a few of the ways in which they used music regularly). There were several categories of instruments -- here are some:

Chordophones
were one type. From these we get our category of stringed instruments. Strings (constructed from different materials) stretched above the surface of the instrument. If you strike them, they vibrate. Their sound can be amplified by some sort of resonating device or a sound box. In the Bible these would be harps and lyres. They often are mentioned in the Psalms and in other places for ceremonies, etc. “And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, and to record, and to thank and praise the Lord God of Israel.” I Chronicles 16:4.

When they are plucked by man they exude sweet sounds. It makes me think about our lives and how much are we to exude sweet sounds when the world is plucking at us right and left. And the vibration, it reminds me of the anointing we have on our lives, that even after we make the first sound, it keeps moving in the spirit.

Other stringed instruments that I’m reminded of are: A violin which gives high sounds -- as we worship and praise we offer up a high praise to God. The viola’s rich reverb, a deep sound making me think of the power of God at work in our lives, His very footsteps walking across the Earth.

Wind-blown instruments were called Aerophones. The musician used a mouthpiece to produce sound or he blew air across the opening in one end of the instrument reed. In this category the ancients had instruments including the flute or shofar, and double-pipe also called a chalil. Leviticus 23:24 says, “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.” and I Kings 1:40 says, “…and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.” Can you believe it? The earth rent from the anointing of the playing. I’m ready to see something like that happen! Let’s let the Wind of His Spirit blow through us!

Next would be the Membranophones which are instruments that consist of a membrane stretched across an opening) and the surface is struck. The drum would be the most common and most popular instrument in this category, This particular membranophone played a major role in the instruments used in worship and victorious battle celebrations. Also the timbrel as seen in Exodus 15:20, “And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.” And let’s look at I Samuel 18:6-7, “When David returned from killing the Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with joy and with musical instruments. The women sang as they played….” When I think about being an instrument for the Lord, I think of the drum a lot. When the world beats us down, out of us comes the very heartbeat of God!

While we’re on percussion instruments, let me say that the keyboard instruments remind me of Ephesians 3:17-19, “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” When the musicians start dancing around on the keyboards, this scripture immediately comes to mind. After all, Psalm 144:1 says, “Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight” and sometimes it is a battle!

Idiophones
are the last of the ancient categories. They are instruments that are self-sounding (instruments that produce sound from the instrument’s material of construction). Ancient examples included rattles and bull-roarers. Bull-roarers were made of slabs of wood, rhomboid, or clay and some times carved and pierced with a small hole at one of the ends for the attaching an length of cord. They were decorated with various designs-- some shape examples include anthropomorphic figures, tiny jugs, and spools. The musician held this piece of chord in his hand and the wood was twirled around in the air. The sound of the bull-roarer was said to represent the voice of God. Rattles served in worship time celebrations. There’s some debate about the Hebrew term which comes from the root nua (to shake). Some understand the term as rattle, while others have preferred castanet. II Samuel 6:5 says, “Meanwhile, David and all the house of Israel were celebrating before the Lord with all kinds of instruments made of fir wood, and with lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets and cymbals.”

Psalm 66:1 says “Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands.” We are self-sounding instruments (as God says in His Word), “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise(Matthew 21:16). It’s what we were created for!

David was quite a worshiper. It was said that David had more than 700 different instruments of worship during his reign and many he invented himself--I’m sure that they were revealed to him as he worshiped. Let’s face it, we’re all instruments of one type of another, so let’s fill the Earth with His “music.”

But also, as we know, sometimes an instrument may be out of key or off beat. We can take a lesson from Ras Robinson, founder of God’s Fullness Online who says that for over fifty years his wife had often had an opposing idea to what he said. He says she expressed it nicely and consistently. After being totally convinced he could never change her, he decided to listen carefully to what she had to say and see if he could in some way harmonize with her to a greater good. It worked! Harmony now rules their home and they make decisions together--they insist on unity in all things. Is there a someone in your life, who by their very core personality, rubs you the wrong way? Is there friction and agitation in your heart toward them? Ras says, “Broaden your bandwidth to include that person, seek with all you might to be one with them.” You can‘t agree with everybody but the Bible does teach us to try. Matthew 5:25 says, “Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him…” and in Romans 15:5-6 we read "Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Let’s be an orchestra together!

What is The 150???

Scriptural basis for GROWING:

So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest (Matthew 9:38)

Great multitudes followed Jesus (Matthew 4:25).

Great multitudes gathered together unto Him (Jesus) (Matthew 13:2).

Great multitudes came unto him having with Him those who were lame, blind, dumb, and maimed and many others and cast them at Jesus’ feet and He healed them … and the multitudes were amazed (Matthew 15:30).

The multitudes resorted to Him (Jesus) and He taught them (Mark 2:13).

And the believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both men and women (Acts 5:14)

The Word increased and the number of disciples increased (Acts 6:7)

The Hand of the Lord was with them and a great number believed and turned to the Lord (Acts 11:21)

We are always setting goals here at New Covenant for higher, greater, more excellent, and more powerful service to God.  Without a vision people perish and cast off all restraint, so goals are vital for any group to thrive and grow, especially in the Kingdom.  God has given us a vision and a message that will reach the nations, help revolutionize lives, and lead souls into a relationship with our God and King.  With that in mind, in order to fulfill the vision that God has given New Covenant Church of Atlanta, we must grow even beyond the awesome growth we’ve seen through the years – we need many more people.  Not just to sit in pews, but laborers, ready to get to work for the demonstration of God’s plans and purposes.  So, a goal has been set - 150 people as our base attendance and beyond.

Will you set your faith in agreement?  Will you call friends, family, loved ones, those who haven’t been to church in a while?  Will you send cards, e-mails, etc.?  Will you call it forth in prayer?  If so, thank you.  God is going to do amazing things here in this Body of Believers.  We need the exponential power of unity and growth to continue here at New Covenant – to breakthrough the 100 or so mark in attendance, to increase in order to sow out into the world.  Let’s reach higher than we’ve ever reached before

A corporate confession based on the Scriptures above, say this out loud:

Where Jesus was, multitudes followed Him, gathered together with Him, were healed by Him, and taught by Him.  Father, your Word makes it plain that where Jesus is, people come – we call them in through prayer first.  You add to the church and I thank you now that the church is being added to in number.  The Word will increase, so I thank you that as the people grow in their understanding and hearing of the Word that you will increase.  Your Word increases and the people grow in their understanding of the Word; therefore, people will be added to the church. In the Name of Jesus
