SPEAKING TO YOURSELF

by Apostle Randy Morgan

Pastor Johnny Layton-Morgan

and Apostle Randy Morgan

Speaking to Yourself - Building Supernatural Strength on the Inside

Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof

Proverbs 3:3 - Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart.

Psalm 45:1 - my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Ephesians 5:18b-19 - be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord

Remaining upbeat is a very, very difficult task. The news doesn't give us much   reason to take heart in life; relationships let us down, and sometimes, even God seems to be hidden and out of reach. What can we do in order to keep an upbeat, joy-filled heart? WE CAN SPEAK TO OURSELVES!!!

Encouraging your own heart by speaking directly to yourself is a very Biblical   practice. A few examples:

Psalm 16:7 I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me.

Psalm 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Psalm 103:22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

Psalm 42:5 Why am I discouraged? Why so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again – my Savior and My God.

In these passages, we see (primarily in Psalms), that it is Biblical to speak   encouragement to yourself. Over and over again the scriptures declare that we can encourage ourselves if we only write on the table of our hearts with the pen of our words. We can author our own encouragement if we just speak encouragement into our own lives.

Sometimes discouragement rises up in our minds, so we must speak to our own   hearts and tell them to burn again. Sometimes, when I'm feeling a little discouraged, I have to say, Randy, you will be encouraged, you will not look at the circumstances, but you will (without hesitation) bless the Lord and be encouraged In Jesus Name the Word also declares that singing and making melodies in our hearts TO THE LORD will also encourage us (Eph. 5:18-19). If we sang more and worshiped more, we would have to deal with negative emotions less often. sadness and praise can't dwell in the same place at the same time for very long

Remember, DEATH AND LIFE ARE IN THE POWER OF YOUR TONGUE - Speak life!!!

Helping feed the family of God

From Pastor Joan

Confession of Faith

I have wholesome, sound sleep at night, for I confess, “He giveth His beloved sleep.”

I have the assurance my labor in the Lord is fruitful, for I confess, “For as much as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

I have as a faith man, abounding blessings, for I confess, “A faithful man shall abound with blessings.”

I have strength for my day for I confess, “As thy days, so shall thy strength be.”

I have special honor from my Father for I confess, “If any man serve Me, him will My Father honour.”

I am not sick, “For my Lord healeth me of all my diseases.”

I am not bound, for “The Son hath made me free.”

I am not defeated, for “I’m more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me.”

From Pastor Angela

Love

Today is the day of love in our society.  It is almost like a day of truce for some—the negative will be forgotten and the good will rise.  That is the way that God sees us and that we should see others.  Love conquers all, but we have to “let go and let God” in moments when we cannot release our own.  Have a happy Valentine’s Day, and see others through the eyes of love that God sees you through.

John 13:34-34 “A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

Psalm 34:1 “I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Why Do I Speak in Tongues?

Pastor-Apostle Randy Morgan has been teaching in the home groups about speaking in tongues. If he hasn’t made it to your group yet, hang on, he’s coming.  Here’s what some folks are saying:

Janeckeh Blackwell

  • Because it’s a way for my spirit to communicate with God without me interfering and without Satan interfering
  • Because it brings peace and encouragement to whatever situation is going on in my life
  • Because the Bible says when we do it we are speaking the mysteries of God

  • Because sometimes I just don’t know how to pray the perfect will of God concerning a situation in my life or the lives of others so I pray in tongues
  • Because the Bible tells me that it builds me up on my most holy faith
  • Because when I finish I don’t worry about it anymore, I know God is working on it

Deacon Tonna Eidson

Johnathan Ford

  • It relieves stress
  • You can’t help but get happy after you do it!
  • I do it a lot when I’m driving in the car and I see things I don’t really know how to pray about, I know it gets the job done
  •
  • Alignment: The Holy spirit never disagrees with God
  • Edification of ourselves because we need prayer too sometimes

Pastor Paul Walker

Jason Deshazo

  • To edify myself in the spirit lift myself up and strengthen myself in the spirit and stir up that well of living water
  • To pray the will of the Father. when I don’t know what to pray (or how to pray), I start to pray in the spirit and Gods word comes forth as we used to say when we were younger it was like the secret decoder ring praying in secret "code" to God so the enemy can’t understand what is being said and strategies and things happen in the spirit.
  • To release the presence of God  out loud and intercede

  • Edification: tongues is a mystery, it’s a mystery between you and God
  • Because I’ve been filled and it just flows when there’s an overflowing, it bubbles over!
  • When anointed in service, can be interpreted to reveal a direct message from God to the church
