The E-pistle – The Power of Speaking God’s Word by Pastor Randy Morgan

He that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? (Jeremiah 23:28b-29)

God's Word has power. In Genesis 1, we see that God created everything by speaking it into existence. John 1:1-4 declares, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." So, when God speaks, His creative power is released. God's Word produces results.

The Word of the Lord was given to us, not so that preachers and teachers could find verses and develop messages that make people feel good. The Word was given to us so that God’s supernatural, creative power could be released in the earth. 1 Corinthians 3:9 says, “For we are laborers together with God.” 2 Corinthians 6:1 says, “We then, are laborers together with Him (God)…” And Mark 16:20 says, “And they went forth, and preached (spoke God’s Word) everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the Word with signs following.” How do we become co-laborers with God? First, we have to find out how God “Labors.” The only way God “labors” is THROUGH SPEAKING HIS WORD. So, to become a co-laborer with God in spiritual issues, we must say what He says. I’ve often heard, “Why not just ‘let God do it?’” It is absolutely necessary as a believer to be completely dependent on God; AND (not but), God has told us to take responsible action.

A natural example of this spiritual dynamic is when I was a small child, my mom had to help me get ready for school, tell me to tie my shoes, brush my teeth, and brush my hair. When I got older, she quit reminding me so much of what to do because I was mature enough that I needed to begin doing what was expected. When I turned 16, got my driver’s license and could drive to school, she often wouldn’t even wake up to make sure I was awake; she let me know that I was old enough and should be mature enough to do what needed to be done.

As we grow up in God, we must become aware of our responsibilities – going to church whether we feel like it or not, tithing, praying, worshipping, and yes, speaking God’s Word – saying what He says. When we do our part, He will do what we can’t do; after all, the Holy Spirit was sent to be the “helper” not the “doer.” He will back what we say with His Power. The Word says of itself that when the Word of God is spoken, “it shall not return unto me void, but … it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isa. 55:11). Speaking God’s Word (Saying what God says with heart-belief) releases God’s Power to operate in any situation. Here is one powerful example: Overcoming Sin – Scriptures:

o This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Gal. 5:16)

o For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace (Rom. 6:14).

o Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin (Rom. 6:6-7)

Now, take those scriptures and "deposit" them into your spirit, exactly like you would money into a checking account. Read them, ‘chew’ on them, think on them, pray them, hear them, speak them, speak them, speak them – not in a weird chanting, magical way, but in a very real, authentic, “Jesus-I-really-need-help” way, etc. Before you know it, your body will begin to line up with you spirit. And when the enemy comes at you with a temptation, you will be able to rise up and say with a believing heart – “DEVIL, I WALK IN THE SPIRIT AND I DON’T FULFILL THE LUSTS OF THE FLESH – IN JESUS’ NAME.” The Word will become more powerful than the temptation because you speak it and believe it.

A New Way To Use The Computer: Part I - The Escape Button by Deacon Tonna Eidson

These days the one of the most-used items in the home or office is the computer. Here's a way we can use our computers to help us remember to pray for yourselves (or others) for a victorious life: As we look at the buttons, we can let them remind us of God's work in our lives and pray and make declarations.

Psalm 18:48 He delivers me from my enemies; Surely You lift me above those who rise up against me; You rescue me from the violent man.

I Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Psalm 68:20 God is to us a God of deliverance. To Yahweh, the Lord, belongs escape from death.

Psalm 71:2, 4 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me. O my God, cause me to escape From the hand of the wicked, From the hand of the perverse and violent.

Proverbs 11:21 My hand upon it! the evil man shall not be unpunished; but the seed of the righteous shall escape.

Proverbs 28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool; but whoso walketh wisely, he shall escape.

Isaiah 31:5 As birds flying, so doth Jehovah of Hosts Cover over Jerusalem, covering and delivering, Passing over, and causing to escape.

We can print these verses and place one or more of them near our keyboard until we've learned them. Jacob Burgess helped me with this, perhaps you have a suggestion for a verse to go with keys on your keyboard for upcoming features. E-mail them to me at newcovenantgirl@aol.com.

"I Can't Do No More!" by Pastor Angela

Sometimes we get weary and just want to lay down and give up. The pressures around us seem to be more than we can bear or handle. In our minds we scream, “I can’t take this anymore!” Ah, but thank God that is our flesh speaking and not our spirit. Where our flesh may be weak, our spirit will be strong. Greater (Stronger) is he that is in my than he that is in the world (John 4:4).

When I read that verse, I often think of the devil and his minions, but it can be me as well. God is stronger than us in the world and we, walking with Him, can overcome anything that the world may throw, slide, or sneak our way. Be still and know that he is God.

Heb 12:2-3 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Bible at the Bar – Pray for Us by Pastor Brian

As we pursue further outreach in Clayton, GA we covet your prayers for the people of Clayton and the surrounding areas. Pray that there will be an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can move freely in the upcoming service and that additional souls will be saved and set free. The Duluth Bible study group is fasting one meal this week to pray for these meetings and helping us by making faith-filled confessions. As God leads, will you join us in fasting one meal to make time for prayer for this outreach of New Covenant? If you know people who are not currently attending services anywhere (and they live in or near Clayton), please let them know about what God is doing and ask them if they would like to be a part. I can be contacted at 404-281-3619 for directions or information.

Confession of Faith by Pastor Joan

I am not oppressed by cares, difficulties and trouble for I cast all my cares upon Him, for He cares for me. I am not in a losing battle, “the Lord shall fight for me, and I shall hold my peace”.

I am not running from the devil, for I am “resisting the devil, and he is fleeing from me” I am not lacking any good thing, for “no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly”.

I am not without peace, “being justified by faith, I have peace with God though our Lord Jesus Christ”.

I am not without power, for “ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you”.

I am not weak, for “the Lord will give strength unto His people”. I am not defeated, for “I’m more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me”.
